For The Love of Vintage shop

Today we feature this rather delightful real life hen party set in a quirky vintage boutique, submitted by Sharon from For The Love of Vintage.

We are often asked to host Vintage Hen Parties in many different venues, kitchens, dining rooms, apartments, hotels, village halls but when we were asked to set up in a Vintage Boutique we jumped at the chance, who wouldn’t! Our vintage loving hens were coming from all over the country to celebrate in Leeds and decided they wanted to fully immerse themselves in a bygone era for the afternoon. The venue chosen by the Hens was Paper Doll Vintage in Leeds city centre, surrounded by beautiful vintage goodies from every era.

The Hens looked suitably in character for a fun vintage afternoon all dressed up in 1950’s prom style dresses, many with hair & make up to match, ready for a fun afternoon of tea, cake and getting creative.

Afternoon Tea in the shop window

Setting up Afternoon Tea in the shop window was a first for us and certainly drew a lot of attention from passers-by.

Delicious cupcakes

After deciding on a favourite teacup the Hens enjoyed lots of cups of tea & plenty of sandwiches, cupcakes, scones & chocolate dipped strawberries. Gathered around the central wooden counter, they were ready for a master class in creating bespoke vintage headpieces.

pretty ribbons, buttons, vintage jewels, antique laces and feathers

With an array of pretty ribbons, buttons, vintage jewels, antique laces and feathers the Hens had plenty of choice to create something unique to them. With plenty of instruction even the novice stitcher can learn to make something beautiful.

vintage hen parties are inclusive of all ages, Mums, Aunties, Grans

The great thing about vintage hen parties is they are so inclusive of all ages, Mums, Aunties, Grans and even little ones enjoy the crafting experience and who doesn’t like cake! For guests who are meeting for the first time at the hen party, it’s a great icebreaker to get to know everyone.

Happy Hens

Modelling their creations, that’s a happy bunch of Hens! Ready to take their headwear off to Italy for the Wedding.
