What's with all the photo shoots?

I have another beautiful vintage styled shoot for you today. But you might be wondering what a hen site is doing blogging photo shoots and what does this have to do with parties anyway?

Well firstly it’s my site and I think they are cool and I want to blog them (ner ner na ner ner) but on a more serious note I really do think that photo shoots make amazing hen party activities. So I’m on a mission to make them the next big thing. These blogs posts are here to show you what good vintage styling and photography look like and give you some inspiration if you do choose to do a shoot of your own. It also gives me the chance to show off the work from some amazing photographers and let’s not forget that you should be looking for an awesome photographer for your wedding too.

So finally today’s shoot comes from Hannah Millard a lovely lady with a great eye for vintage style, she tell us all about the photo shoot.

“The shoot took place last year in Friar Gate Launderette in Derby. The guy who ran it was a little worried at first because apparently the last time someone took photos there, they were really rude to his customers and started taking inappropriate photos. We reassured him and in the end he more than came round to the idea! He started digging out vintage soaps and suggesting poses, clearly a budding stylist at heart! It was one of those days where everyone involved has a blast and the customers loved watching us work!

The model was vintage clothing supplier Terri, who did her fabulous hair and make-up herself. Before the shoot we looked through her many suitcases of gorgeous vintage clothes and I felt like a kid looking through a dressing up box!”

I think this shoot is totally cute and the idea of doing a vintage style hen shoot in a launderette has a good tongue in cheek feel to it. Now to find a cute old fashioned laundrette for a setting!

I hope this has given you some inspiration, cuz I’m going to keep posting ‘em!
